Avery Westover is a Master of Social Worker intern, currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at Arkansas State University after completing her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Utah Valley University.
She is comprehensively trained in multiple therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and other trauma-informed interventions. She holds additional certifications in crisis management and psychological first aid.
Her professional experience includes working at an inpatient behavioral hospital and private practice office. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults that struggle with emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, self-harm, OCD, ADHD, or life transitions, bringing a client-centered approach to her practice. Her background in youth leadership and international mentoring provides her with a unique cultural perspective in supporting diverse populations.
Avey believes in the importance of forming genuine connections with patients, creating safe spaces to feel understood and accepted. She takes a collaborative approach to therapy, serving as a supportive guide through challenging circumstances.
Outside of her clinical work, Avery enjoys spending time with her husband, trying new recipes, and reading a good book.
